Brief Biography

Since graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, Strasen has pushed the
boundaries of photography, painting and installation with the results comprising multiimage
artworks. She makes lenticular prints of her own photographs, combining up to six
images in one work. Her installations feature floating layers of images covering entire
walls, and her paintings on mylar hang layer after layer, falling upon the next adding to the complexity of
the piece. She also makes large site-specific installations which push the boundaries of this genre as well.
She has exhibited extensively in museums and galleries in Europe and USA, curated exhibitions,
achieved numerous public commissions and has taught at the University of California, San Diego.
